Rippa Rugby

One Year 3/4 and two Year 5/6 teams recently competed in the first of 3 Korbond Primary School’s Rippa Rugby tournaments.

Our junior team were the youngest team there, having some Year 2s in the team. They lost the first 2 games and won their last, showing much promise by scoring lots of tries throughout the day. The player of the day was Sean Chu, however Coach Shaun Cox is thankful that there are another 2 tournament days as it was difficult to choose. They are looking forward to the next tournament when they have a bit more experience. Thank you Shaun, for your coaching expertise. We all know how hard it is to coach littlies.

Both our Aqua and Blue Year 5/6 Rippa teams had an awesome day. Aqua team won 2 out of 3 games and scored lots of tries. Blue won 1 game and displayed great attacking skills in their other 2 games, also scoring heaps of tries. Aqua’s player of the day was Kelly Tork and Alistair Wright was the receiver of this award for Blue team. It was commented on what a strong contingency of skilled girls we possess. An excellent start to the season! Thank you Gaylene Barret for assisting with coaching last minute.
