On Friday morning the 23rd of May, the Y7/8 Boys soccer team played in a very tough section in the Norwest Soccer Tournament held at Fred Taylor Park in Kumeu whereby only the top 2 teams of each section went through to the final rounds.  Unfortunately, despite 100% commitment from the 14 man squad, we were unable to make the top 2 teams of our section play.  Tyler Matthews did an excellent job of captaining a skilled team that also displayed excellent sportsmanship towards opposing teams.  Special recognition needs to go out to Paul Park for helping an opposing player back to his feet who had fell to the ground.  This really highlighted a team with great character.  I am very proud of all these boys and my player for the day goes to Daniel Graham for displaying some terrific skills by winning a lot of ball for our team.  A special thank you to Mr Armitt for doing an excellent job of refereeing and to the parents who pledged their support on the day.
