Madison BirdBonjour all readers. Introducing Madison Bird, one of the very few student councillors for 2008. I am a 10 year old girl which means I am a year 6 and my hobbies are… Basketball - a very fast game needing lots of skill and energy.Soccer - another skilful game which is becoming extremely popular and which I play throughout the season.Dancing - I have been dancing for 4 years now and I am delighted to be up to junior gold. I go once a week on a Saturday morning for my hip hop lessons. Athletics - I like being involved every time this opportunity comes around at school. Last but not least …………………..reading! I eat, sleep and breathe books……….In fact I am a bit of a bookworm. At school I am also a librarian and a road patrol warden flying to each activity everyday. You could say that I am a very busy bee! This is my first year as a student councillor and I am looking forward to it. I also hope to achieve many of my goals, such as becoming a great leader who is helping the community more. I hope am a good student councillor and I hope to rejoin next year
Jack TurnerThe ball’s flying my way! What do I do? Do I pass it or do I go for the goal? I’ve decided to take a shot at the goal. WHACK!!! The ball goes flying neatly and accurately into the goal!! Every one shouts out JACK TURNER IS THE BEST!!! Hi, my name is Jack Turner and, as you can see, I really enjoy playing soccer. I am eleven years old and this is my first time as a student councillor. I hope I can help the school in as many ways as I can.
Shavaun Crump“Point those toes. Straighten your legs. No bent arms.” These statements are pretty much what my life revolves around. I have a huge passion for gymnastics! It is my favourite hobby. So there I am, standing up there on the beam. The words, “Point your toes!”, “Straighten your legs!”, “No bent arms!” go over my head a hundred times. I have a huge passion for gymnastics! It is my favourite hobby. Hi, my name is Shavaun. I am a 10 year old girl and this is my first year of being a student councillor. I have a talent for gymnastics, but that’s not my only talent… I can dance and play a lot of sports. I love chocolate and ice cream and I absolutely hate cauliflower. Other sporting activities which I take part in include touch rugby, basketball and gymnastics and enjoy all of them!
Tiffany KitAs a 12 year old girl I enjoy going overseas with my family, travelling to different places. It’s like a hobby to me because I usually go during the long, long holidays or, sometimes in the middle of the year. The most memorable place I’ve ever been to is Paris, France. I enjoyed going there when I was younger and can remember very vividly the beauty of the Eiffel Tower. I also enjoyed going there because of being able to visit the French version of Disneyland. I’m Tiffany Kit, a year 8 student and this is my first time of being a student councillor.
Aleisha AkurangiI spend most of my free time listening to different types of music such as Rock, R N B, Hip Hop and, sometimes, Pop.Kia Ora, introducing Aleisha Akurangi. I am 11 years old, turning 12 this year in June and am a Year 7 student.As a student councillor, I am really looking forward to helping the school and the community in every way.I love all sorts of sports. I like to play netball for the school and I also do gymnastics.At home I am very responsible and respectful. Being the owner of four cats I have to make sure that they are always fed. Their names are:- Angel, Pierre, Puss Puss and Samantha. I also like to help with the cooking of some delicious meals for the family.I have two sisters. The elder one is called Tayla and she is 14 years old and Jasmine who is 10. So, as you can see, I am the middle child of our family.My big personal goal for this year is to keep trying and never giving up.
Adam KingI spend most of my free time bobbing going up and down. You might think I crazy but I really do. This is because I absolutely adore fishing. It is a pastime and a great hobby. Hi, my name is Adam King and this is my third consecutive year on the student council. My other interests include sport, reading, listening to music and spending time with my family and friends. I hope to add to my list of achievements in the student council which have included - organizing a trip to West Harbour Gardens to visit the elderly and share the baking which we made, multiple discos for the Junior students and a talent quest in which the Senior students demonstrated their many, and sometimes unusual talents. This year I plan to aim higher to achieve something I will remember for the rest of my life. Bring it on!
Moneil MastersPicture this! There I am, standing on the white baseline with my powerful Prince racquet and my green Dunlop ball. "Yep that's it!” My favourite sport is Tennis because it involves using your whole body. I play for the West Harbour Tennis Club and so far it's been great! Another one of my talents is playing the guitar. I love playing the Guitar and I've been playing for a year. It's been sensational! My name’s Moneil Masters. I'm a Year 7 in Room 23 and I'm looking forward to being your student councillor.
Josh ArmittHaving the blustery wind blowing though the holes in my helmet is something which I simply love …..Yep! I love biking, doing jumps and tricks and being able to ride anywhere.I also have many more interests having been in soccer rep teams since I was 6 years old.Basketball is another sporty activity I enjoy immensely and am currently in the under 13s A national team. Last year I competed at the NZ nationals tournament at Dunedin last.Art is another activity which I enjoy and like to try lots of different techniques. If I could get the same job as my uncle (who creates monsters for movies like “The Waterhorse”) I would love it. In the past he also did the makeup for Lutz from “Lord of the Rings” as well as many others.I’m 11 years old and in Room 22 and my name is Joshua Armitt.
