Welcome to Kowhai Team 2011
We are the Year 5/6 team with six classes:
Delwyn Taylor (Team Leader)Room 1
Delwyn Taylor is the fabulous Team leader of Kowhai. She has been teaching for more that 20 years. She was drawn to Hobsonville school because of its reputation for having great pupils. The best part about teaching for Delwyn is seeing the big smiles on children's faces. Delwyn is also a mum to Chris and Aimee who are both in their 20's. She enjoys boating, skiing, reading, and spending lots of time with her family when not teaching.
Sarah BettsRoom 2Miss Betts has joined Hobsonville school this year. This is her first year of teaching. She decided to become a teacher as she enjoys watching children succeed and enjoy coming to school. Sarah chose to teach at Hobsonville School as she was once a student here herself. In her spare time she enjoys reading, zumba, painting and spending time with her friends and family.
Alana Fraser-ListRoom 3Alana has been teaching for over 10 years and has enjoyed every year. She first came to Hobsonville School when her sons started as new entrants. She has worked in various areas throughout the school and is really enjoying working with the Year 5/6 children. In her spare time she enjoys scrapbooking, making cards, reading and spending time with her family.
Aileen HowarthRoom 4Aileen Howarth has been teaching for 5 years. She started her teaching career at Hobsonville because it was a great school with fantastic teachers and kids. Aileen has two children currently at Hobsonville. What Aileen enjoys most about teaching is watching the children succeed and being proud of their achievements. When she is not teaching she enjoys Zumba, reading, movies and spending time with family and friends.
Jennifer LawtonRoom 5
Jennifer started her teaching career at Hobsonville last year. She first came to Hobsonville School as a student teacher, from there she thought that the school was an awesome plane with fantastic teachers, staff and kids so decided to come back when her studies were over. Her favourite part about teaching is watching children achieve their goals and how excited they get over their learning. Although Jennifer has no children yet she does have a dog called Manion and is engaged to be married later this year. When she is not teaching she enjoys Highland dancing, reading, and spending time with family and friends. When she can she likes to travel.
Fei YapRoom 6Fei has returned to Hobsonville School after taking a break from full time teaching. She has been teaching for 6 years. She wanted to come back to Hobsonville because of the fantastic culture of learning throughout the school and the fantastic RRAP kids. What she most enjoys about teaching is seeing the students get excited about their learning. Fei enjoys reading, eating out, working out, travelling and spending time with good friends when she is away from Hobsonville.
