Sports

Jump Rope for heart day.

Jump rope for heart is a physical activity programme that has been run in New Zealand schools for over 25 years.  It aims to promote fun physical activity, while assisting Children to develop lifelong balance, rhythm, and hand eye co-ordination skills.  Hobsonville School held there jump rope for heart day on Friday the 4th of June.  We raised $601 for the heart foundation.

Swimming:

The day was sweltering.  The water was inviting.  The cheering deafening.  And the nerves were buzzing.  And the result?  We came 1st= with Waimaukau.  After a gruelling day of heats then finals and team relays, kudos has to go to the “star (fishes)” of the day: Arianna Barrett & Liam Simpson who blitzed their competitors and won too numerous events to mention!  But without all 15 students giving their all – we wouldn’t have done it without you!  A huge congratulations must go to Isabella Tollich, Arianna Barrett, Maddy Pearce, Hope Wright, Meg Shermbrucker, Brittany Vardy, Jemina King, Adeeva Sotogi, Sue-In Lee, Allysha Fowler, Sam Vela, Braun Pilling, Alistair Wright, Jaidyn Hendricks, Liam Simpson and Liam Fearnley.  Way to go team – you showed massive amounts of sportspersonship, dedication and Hobsonville Primary School are extremely proud of you all!
