Technology- BP Challenge
The Northwest Cluster BP Challenge
The Northwest cluster BP challenge was a blast, with many teams all competing for the top place in their age group. There were two age groups, years 5 & 6 and years 7 & 8 and there were two challenges for each group. The year 5 & 6 group were Dale and Henry from Room 4, Nathaniel and Meg from Room 2. Their set challenge was to make a shelter to fit two people in and the mystery challenge was to make the tallest flower they could without it falling down. Both these tasks had to be completed using only newspaper, string and sellotape. The result with the help of Meg"s bonus point was an overall second. Next it was the year 7 & 8's Tyler, Monique, Joshua and Joshua's turn. Their set challenge was to build a bridge of a set length and height that would hold 500g of weight and the mystery challenge was to build a flag pole and hoist the flag. Although thay didn't feature in the overall results, on points they came third. Overall it was a fun day with a special guest appearance from Andy Booth, one of our top NZ V8 Drivers. Thanks to Mr Nash our organiser and coach and the parents for transport and support on the day.
