Private drama lessons offered before school on Tuesdays by Splat
Drama classes: Is your child shy? Are they a natural performer? Do they feel intimidated by the idea of public speaking? Do they just need 45 minutes a week to take part in organised craziness?! Come and join Splat! Splat Drama is a self-confidence programme that will be running at your school on Tuesdays before school time. We play fun engaging games and perform at the end of term once to parents and once to peers. All scripts are engaging, educational, and HILARIOUS. Contact me to come along for a trial, find out more details, or just a chat to discuss how our classes can benefit your child’s development.

Splat – Where laughter leads the learning
The Indian Dance Group will be learning dance routines and styles from different parts of India. They will mainly incorporate folk dances, classical dance (basic Bharathanatyam) and even Bollywood dance. Students are invited to trial for this group at the beginning of each year. The Indian Dance Group will be practising every Thursday during our cultural times and will perform at assemblies and our annual school Picnic Evening.
Art Teacher – stacey.osborne@hobsonville.school.nz
Years 0-6 students visit Mrs Stacey Osborne during the course of a term for Visual Arts. Years 7-8 students follow a different programme, led by Mrs Osborne, which forms part of their Tech rotation on Fridays. Students also regularly engage in art activities in their classes.
Much of our experience of the world is visual, and children are often visual thinkers! That’s why the visual arts are an important part of learning at Hobsonville School – helping children experience and explore and respond to the world through the creative process. We aim to provide students with opportunities to experience and progressively develop skills in a variety of media, and gain an appreciation for the artwork of peers, adults and other cultures.
– OUR STUDENTS EXPERIENCE AND LEARN ABOUT MANY DIFFERENT FORMS OF VISUAL EXPRESSION AT HOBSONVILLE. HERE OUR JUNIOR STUDENTS ARE PRODUCING A DELIGHTFUL CLAY SELF-PORTRAIT.
